Game Over, Man! - Netflix Review
The cast of Workaholics joins Team Netflix in this romp of action films like Die Hard. The three neo-stooges play housekeepers in a five-star hotel, and up end having to save the day when terrorists take the occupants hostage.
The movie does a great job of setting up the characters and their motivations in first part of the film. The villains are introduced early on and get the plot rolling before the story starts to slow down. While this is a comedy though, there is a lot of violence with many types of deaths. Along the way, there are several jokes and elements of physical humor that really land. Without those rare times, this film would be empty and boring as far as the obstacles our trio must face.
The former Workaholics have great carry over to Game Over Man in terms of their on-screen chemistry. Their antics don't hurt the film and definitely pace the comedic output.
Game Over Man is not for everyone, but it should appeal to fans of the Workaholics show that aired on Comedy Central from 2011-2017. It will also appeal to the Netflixers who don't like to watch their movies in a sober state of mind. This is a "super-niche" comedy film.
I give this 2 joints out of 5 for the fact that I did crack up a few times at the sight gags. Have you seen this Netflix original? Whats your favorite original far this year?
