The Strangers: Prey At Night Review

Nothing like smoking a bowl and watching a horror movie for some scares but is The Strangers Sequal worth spending your money(and weed) on?

The Strangers: Prey at Knight is the sequel to the 2008 classics, The Strangers, that was years in the making.the 2008 film is seen as a classic in many eyes, including myself, so I was kinda hype to be able to spark up and go see this one on the big screen, but this movie was somewhat of a letdown.

Story

The story of this movie follows a family with a troublesome daughter who goes off to drop her off to boarding school when they encounter a group of strangers trying to cause some trouble of there own. This movie story was bland to me. Seemed like every other forced horror sequel with not much originality in it what so ever( hell had me think I was watching Texas Chainsaw the way they copied one scene or could have been the weed). The main character is as about as stupid as they come forgetting about all the things they could do to get out of the situation and making things a lot harder on themselves. for the villains, they seem nothing like the same three from the first. they are not as methodical as they were in the first one and seemed like amateurs at times.

Scares

The scares in the movie are few. Most are basic jump scares with maybe one or two getting me to jump, but the others were so predictable. They failed to capture the same fear that we felt that made us love the first one so much.

Was it worth the ten-year wait

Honestly no. I really liked the first one, and after this one, i feel o might need to smoke a jay and see if the first one was really good or not. This movie failed my horror test which kinda explains why it came out in March instead of October like a good horror movie. All in all, I’ll give it 2 joints out of 5. This movie is nothing special I could wait to see this one on Netflix. Maybe will get more scares since you’ll be able to smoke with it.
